Photographic encounters in public

About Michael Kowalczyk

Michael Kowalczyk Portrait with camera - Photo by J.Ruszkiewicz

I am a photographer with a special interest in making photographs in public to document the spirit of the times.

Born in Poland, I emigrated to Germany at ten years old. Over the years, my curiosity and engagement with photography as a contemporary art form grew steadily. During a two-year stay in New York City I had the chance to work with and learn from expert teachers in the field of street and documentary photography in the International Center of Photography School. After an inspiring journey trough South and North America, I moved back to Germany. Between 2022 and 2024 I was chairman of the local Photography Club Fotoclub Konstanz 1958 e.V.
