A huge block party is happening around Jefferson St. in Bushwick on the first weekend in June since 2012. The famous Bushwick Collective invites all New Yorkers to celebrate urban art in it´s various forms and styles.

During three day long event one can marvel how graffiti artists are painting new murals on the surrounding walls. Open warehouses provid space for contemporary art installations and performance artists. Most of the party people celebrate on the corner of St Nicholas Av and Troutman Street. to the hip-hop beats of a DJ. You can get a free custom arm paint job or be photographed by the countless camera people :) A bit further out of the party center, up on Wyckoff Ave local vendors and flea market people offer products and services in a more relaxing atmosphere. Another great place is the small unnamed bar with white windows on the corner of Wiloughby and Wyckoff Ave where one can listen to live concerts for free. I made a couple of candid shots of the Racoon Fighter Band while enjoying a cool donation based beer, exactly what was needed because it was damn hot inside! Enjoy the next party, be safe an thank the NYPD for their Courtesy, Professionalism, and Respect.
