Every public street parade has spectators. While a lot of people take part shouting, drinking and dancing on the streets a few choose to stay inside and enjoy party with the comfort and safety of their own private homes. While standing in their windows they are always surrounded by a specific window frame. I thought this would be a nice opportunity to shoot some candid portraits. I grabbed my 70-300mm zoom lens and went out to shoot a couple of distinctively framed candid portraits during the Rosenmontags Carnival Parade in Aachen, Germany.
While looking at my collection of candid portraits in window frames i have noticed three distinctive groups among the participants:
1 – Those who are costumed participate with open windows
2 – A minority of people without costumes open their windows too
2 – The majority of people without costumes are likely to stay behind closed windows.
